help Monthly Benefit

You are free to select the amount of monthly benefit you require, but this should not be more than £1,800 or 60% of your gross monthly earned income, whichever is the lesser.

help Deferment Period

When you take out an Income Care policy you must choose the claim deferment period you require – either 30 or 90 days. This means that benefit is not payable for the first 30 or 90 days of any period of incapacity. As soon as this claims deferment period is over, benefit will start to accrue and you will normally receive payment on a monthly basis. Benefit will continue to be paid for up to 12 months, or until you are once again fit to resume work, whichever is the sooner.

Please note that the deferment period is 90 days for all periods of disability relating to back conditions.

You may choose a monthly benefit of up to £1,800, or 60% of your gross monthly salary, whichever is the lesser.
